How can you stay awake on the slopes after a crazy night out?

Had a sleepless night? Don’t tell lies! Your face says it all… Your mates are already ready to go and 100% awake, but you just can’t see how you are going to be able to keep up with them on the slopes after only two hours sleep and feet which are still aching from dancing the night away. Nevertheless, you just must not miss even a day of your holiday! You won’t be able to ski like a Nordic god today, but you will look as if you are: follow the guide!

Take some rest!

Above all, don’t overestimate your resources! Today, you are not your usual super-athletic, hyper-gifted or speedy self, so don’t even try to beat any records! If you don’t doze off while going down a green run, you will really be lucky! If you want the maximum success in your skiing, there is only one answer: take every opportunity to rest. Economise on effort! Wherever you go, choose the shortest path! Take advantage of every opportunity to replenish your resources: have little catnaps while you are queuing for the ski tow or the chair lift and refasten your boots every half-hour to give yourself a real reason to sit down!

Be cunning!

Today, you will have to exercise some ingenuity and you are going to do all you can to fool everyone around you! At lunchtime, while your friends are finishing their dessert, tell them that you want to sunbathe and settle down outside and hide behind your tinted glasses. No-one will know whether your eyes are open or shut! Similarly, “forget” to get off the chair lift to give yourself another 10 minutes rest. By being the tiniest bit smart, you will manage to save face!
